A. Ladd James, President

A. Ladd James began his love for building at an early age. He grew up in N. Myrtle Beach, SC working side by side with his father, a residential and commercial contractor. Through that experience he gained tremendous insight and first hand knowledge of residential building.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 1992 with a degree in advertising, Ladd founded an advertising firm in Myrtle Beach. While building his own personal residence in 1999, Ladd decided to get back into the residential building business and formed Ladd Company Homes. Over the next few years, Ladd split time between his advertising business and home building business. In 2005, Ladd sold his advertising firm and moved his family to Columbia, SC to focus solely on building fine custom homes.

The emphasis of Ladd Company Homes is building upscale custom homes, whether it be in neighborhoods, such as Longcreek Plantation, Lake Carolina or Parkridge or on your own personal land or acreage. Ladd takes tremendous pride in his work and carefully oversees every phase of the building process to guarantee quality.

Ladd is a member of the Better Business Bureau of Columbia, National Association of Home Builders, Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia and the National Association of Realtors. He and his wife Michelle and their two sons, Garrett and Rhett, are members at Village Church and reside in Lake Carolina.
